It was an astoundingly exciting and exceptional evening as Irene Tssambedo’s latest choreographic piece was exceptionally performed and amazingly received amidst thunderous applauses and a standing ovation as we took YIIKI AFRICA BOLÉRO’s maiden curtain call in front of a filled to capacity theatre. I want to say thank you to you my family, friends, and the ensemble of YIIKI for the encouragement and support. It indeed was a stellar performance and I hold cherished memories of this experience. Another chapter begins on my journey to artistic excellence, as I resume residency here in Ouaga. I am creating a new choreographic piece at the school of dance Ecole Edit, where I am supported by my mother in dance Irene Tssambedo. Life is a cycle and in the race of life it is not known who wins or loses (until the end of time). So we live in search of freedom, we leave in migration for greener pastures. We intentionally live determined to stir the next person to making a lasting impression and taking every opportunity. But life has shown us that as beautiful as life is, it is still a brutal war for survival, consisting of daily battles.
